Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Episode 6x07 "Once More With Feeling"
Song: "I've Got a Theory"
Chorded by Evan Robb
A D E
I've got a theory / That it's a demon
F#m D E
A dancing demon, no something isn't right there
A D E
I've got a theory / Some kid is dreamin'
F#m D E
And we're all stuck inside his wacky broadway nightmare
F#m D A E
I've got a theory we should work this out
F#m D A B
It's getting eerie/what's this cheery singing all about?
A D E
It could be witches / some evil witches
F#m F#m D E
Which is rediculous ... and I'll be over here
A D E
I've got a theory / It could be bunnies
D E B
Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes
D E B
They've got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses
A
And what's with all the carrots?
E G
What do they need such good eyesight for anyway?
D E A
Bunnies! Bunnies! It must be bunnies!
A
Or maybe midgets
F#m D A E
I've got a theory we should work this fast
F#m D A B
Because it clearly could get serious before it's passed
A E G D
I've got a theory / It doesn't matter-er
Em C D G G/F#
What can't we face if we're together?
Em C D G G/F#
What's in this place that we can't weather?
Bm A
Apocalypse? We've all been there
Bm A
The same old trips, why should we care?
Em C D G G/F#
What can't we do if we get in it?
Em C D G G/F#
We'll work it through within a minute
Bm A
We have to try/We'll pay the price
Bm A
It's do or die/Hey I've died twice
Em C D G G/F#
What can't we face if we're together?
Em C D G G/F#
What's in this place that we can't weather?
Em C D A
There's nothing we can't face/except for bunnies
notes:
1) I like to play the chords on the first two verses very bouncy and staccato, and on the chorus I let them ring out.
2) After Xander's line about witches, there are three chords that come very fast (F#, D, and E). I just play the single notes, on the 2nd fret E-string, 5th fret A-string, and second fret D-string. It's easier to get them out on time, and more importantly, puts you in perfect position for the A chord that comes next.
3) During the uncomfortable silence after Anya's line "It could be bunnies" and before the heavy metal sequence, I tap my pick on the pickguard of my guitar to simulate the sound of crickets chirping. It keeps the beat and keeps people from thinking the song is over.
4) The way I do the G to G/F# is, I play a standard G chord and then for the G with F# bass, I just remove my ring finger from the 3rd fret E-string and move my middle finger to 2nd fret E-string, which mutes the A string.
